Project Recovery

IT Project Recovery is the process of stabilising a technology project or program that is over budget, behind schedule, or losing stakeholder confidence, and creating a clear, realistic path to getting it across the line.

Tech on Track specialises in Project Recovery for Australian organisations dealing with:

  • Complex IT programs
  • ERP and CRM implementations
  • Digital transformation projects that have stalled, lost governance, or left leadership questioning whether the project will ever deliver

Our approach

Every recovery engagement is underpinned by the Tech on Track Switch Methodology — a proven recovery framework developed by our founder Nadia Leung, a PMP-certified consultant with over 25 years of delivery experience across Mastercard (USA), Telstra, Optus, and NBN.

Engagements are delivered by on-shore resources drawn from our team of experienced Project Managers, Delivery Leads, and Delivery Assurance specialists, matched to the complexity and scale of your project.

What to expect

A typical engagement runs 3-6 months. We assess root causes, reset governance, realign vendors, and restore delivery accountability.

From there, we work with you to determine the right path forward:

  1. See it through — our team continues to lead delivery until the project is complete.
  2. Transition back — we hand delivery back to your internal resources once stability is restored.
  3. Move to PMaaS — we shift into an ongoing project management engagement to maintain momentum and

protect the investment already made.

In our experience, projects that return to the same environment without structural change are at risk of falling behind again — which is why we are honest with our clients about what sustainable recovery actually requires.

The goal is not just to stop the bleeding — it is to finish what was started.

Our focus is to stabilise delivery quickly, restore accountability, and establish a realistic path forward.

01 What We Focus on

These typically include:

Delivery  plans, milestones, and schedule confidence
Vendor  performance and accountability
• Risk management and issue resolution processes
Stakeholder  alignment and communication
Clarity  of scope and delivery priorities

02 What You Receive

Our Project Recovery engagement provides practical leadership and clear direction to stabilise the project.
Typical outcomes include:
• Stabilised project governance and delivery structure
• Clear recovery plan and updated delivery roadmap
• Improved vendor coordination and accountability
• Strengthened project reporting and transparency
• Restored stakeholder confidence in delivery

03 Benefits

Project Recovery helps organisations:
• Regain control of complex technology initiatives
• Identify and address delivery risks quickly
• Strengthen governance and accountability
• Realign vendors and internal teams around clear outcomes
• Restore confidence in project delivery

04 Typical Engagement

Project Recovery engagements typically run for 6–12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the project and the level of stabilisation required.

In many cases, organisations then transition into ongoing delivery leadership through our Project Leadership (PMaaS) model to ensure the project is successfully completed.
